Cesar Nino

My personal Statement

My name is Cesar Nino and I attend S.C.A.A. Academy at Chelsea Vocational high school. I have been a student at Chelsea for three years and I’ve gained a lot and also lost a lot. “Always do the work now when you’re young and able, then to do all the work when you’re old and bed ridden” thus has been my mantra throughout High School. As a student I’ve never lost focus on my work and I have always excelled. All I’m basically doing is planning for the future by doing all my work and passing
my classes.

As a student at Soho Art Academy I have been taking a Media Arts class every year in Chelsea. So far I’ve taken Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and now Web design, Html and Macromedia Dreamweaver. I have actually grown to like media and decided this is what I want to study for the rest of my life. One of the projects that made me come to this discovering was when a group of kids and me collaborated with a non- profit association called “Art In General”. In this program we directed and produced our own short film called “Rich and Poor” with the help their instructor. I played the role of “Angelito” the poor guy in the film. I learned how to use the blue screen and camera. In June 2006, the short film was exhibited at their gallery. At the exhibit I received a CD of the video to use for my portfolio. I had a real fun experience with this and it made me broaden my horizon and my skills so much more.

Over this time at Chelsea I’ve grown to love media/art my skills in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Dreamweaver and Web Design have grown so much. So much that I feel that I can do it as a career. These value years at Chelsea have given this average Joe who didn’t know what to do in a life a push to what I want to do with my life exactly.
